From May 22-24, the Ottawa Circus Festival will be offering fun workshops for all your circus ambitions, ages and budgets.
🌀 Acrobatic Hoop Diving - You've seen it in Cirque du Soleil, try it at the gym, taught by former performer Jonathan Meehan and recent graduate Haley Tenn.
✨ Straps – Explore straps technique with Bryan Saunders from Circus Concepts.
🌀 Aerial Hoop - Join Sarah Soleil for three different and exciting hoop workshops.
🎭 Trapeze – Joanne Galligan is here to offer two different workshops on trapeze.

Duo and Spanish Web Workshops
with Eve Gordon and Luis Meirelles
This June, train with internationally acclaimed circus artist Eve Gordon in a series of dynamic duo-focused workshops designed to build strength, creativity, and connection in the air. Ages 14+
✨ Duo Straps – Explore partner-based straps technique with a focus on weight-sharing, synchronisation, and powerful transitions.
🌀 Spanish Web – Dive into dynamic spinning and control while learning technique for both the setter and flyer on this unique apparatus.
🎭 Duo Trapeze – Generate momentum, experiment with tempos, and work toward semi and full releases with your partner.
🤝 Duo Improvisation – Develop trust, timing, and creative communication in the air through guided improvisation and structured play.
✨ Swing / Toss The Girl - An introduction to skills needed to generate momentum and toss a flyer through progressive skills.
All workshops emphasize partner coordination, clean technique, and expressive aerial storytelling.
About the Coaches:
Eve Gordon is an award-winning circus artist, director, and educator from Aotearoa New Zealand and a core creative with The Dust Palace - performing at the NAC in June. Known for her collaborative and story-driven approach to circus, she has taught extensively across New Zealand and internationally.
Luis Meirelles is a circus artist and coach specialising in dynamic acrobatics, group work, and high-energy partnering. With a background in Toss the Girl and ensemble-based practice, he brings a playful but rigorous approach to training. Luis is passionate about building strong technique, clear communication, and trust within acrobatic groups.

Come learn the basics, explore a new apparatus or take your skills to the next level with like minded people. Workshops can focus on one apparatus or explore several. Minimum of 5 people required to book a workshop. Workshop content, length and timing can be tailored, contact us to book your workshop today.
Dress code: For all apparatuses we recommend a close fitting t-shirt or tank and athletic pants that cover the knees, no zippers or buttons.
